BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry proudly kicked off its first Renewable Energy Conclave on May 30th in New Delhi at India International Centre. The aim of the conclave was to thoroughly assess the current business climate, future market prospects and feasibility of the renewable energy in the developing BRICS nations. Mr. M.C. Gupta, a Former Chief Secretary, Haryana & Former Industries Secretary, GOI and also Advisor to United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). The occation also witnessed the presence of eminent speakers like Dr. Srikanta K Panigrahi, who is an adviser to Prime Minister on National Strategic Knowledge Mission Climate Change, and is Currently the Director General of Carbon Minus India(CMI) and is a prominent member of Board of Trustees of Indian Institute of Sustainable Development (IISD), New Delhi, Lt. Gen. D.V. Kalra (Ex Director General Ordinance Services) and Mr K.S. Popli (Chairman and Managing Director (IREDA) also presented their views on the significant topic of Renewable Energy. A panel discussion between Dr. Ashutosh Rastogi (Group Member of Planning Commission of Government of India), Mr. Sukhbir Singh (Ex-Officio Secretary to Government of India), Mr. Shashank Adlakha, General Manager, Re New Power), Ms. Kanika Khanna (Chief Executive Officer, Sunkalp Energy provided a finale to the conclave. The panel discussion featured informative presentations through which participants established valuable contacts with policy makers and other renewable energy industry stakeholders. Two of the students of FORE Institute of Management worked very hard for the success of the event from start to the end namely Mr. Shashank Chaturvedi and Mr. Ankit Gupta ably assisted by Ms Prachi Pande; another intern form FORE school of management.
